Desert Trip Music Festival
October 2016 sees the addition of a new music festival at the Empire Polo Grounds: Desert Trip Music Festival. Weekend 1 of Desert Trip is October 7th, 8th and 9th. Weekend 2 of Desert Trip is October 14th, 15th and 16th. Both weekends of Desert Trip Music Festival feature the same lineup. Friday night is The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. Saturday night is Paul McCartney and Neil Young. Sunday night is Roger Waters and The Who.
Desert Trip Experience
While Desert Trip is put on by GoldenVoice, the same promoters as Coachella Music Festival and Stagecoach, it will be a completely different experience. For starters, at Desert Trip there will be one stage surrounded by seating areas and grandstands. There will still be general standing areas in front of the stage, as well as a lawn area behind the seats. The Empire Polo Grounds will open daily at 2pm for Desert Trip.
Another huge difference at Desert Trip is the culinary experience. Desert Trip will feature over 30 various brilliant chefs, such as Curtis Stone and Marcus Samuelsson. Along with gourmet food, there will be a huge selection of craft beers and fine wines.
Arrested at Desert Trip
This year there were nearly 50 people arrested at Desert Trip. Twenty-eight people were arrested at Desert Trip, with five of those being for public intoxication and one possession of a controlled substance. Twenty-two people were arrested at Desert Trip (cited with a misdemeanor) for alcohol-related crimes.
While being arrested at Desert Trip may not seem like the biggest worry because it occurred at a music festival, the charges faced are still misdemeanors, most of which carry the potential of jail time and heavy fines. Any misdemeanor on your record has the chance to put a damaging blemish on your record, even if you were only arrested at Desert Trip.
