Coachella and Stagecoach updates approved

Last night, the City of Indio approved some great new things for both Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals!  First, they have agreed to allow Goldenvoice to sell more tickets.  Coachella Music Festival will go from 99,000 tickets to 125,000 tickets.  Stagecoach will go from 75,000 tickets to 85,000 tickets.  To accommodate the increase, they have also been approved to add 20 acres to the festival site.  This will allow for more area inside the venue, but is also targeted to allow for more camping and parking spaces as well.  In addition, sound checks are now starting one hour earlier, beginning at 9am, which theoretically could allow for the addition of one more band.  Goldenvoice is ecstatic about these new approvals for Coachella Festival and Stagecoach.  The small business owners in the area are excited about the amendments for Coachella Festival and Stagecoach.  And the City of Indio is excited about the increase in tax revenue which the increases for Coachella and Stagecoach will bring.  The residents of Indio are a mixed bag.  They know how great Coachella and Stagecoach are for the local economy, but the traffic and noise increase worries some.
